Welcome to the Home of the Terra Rubra Lions Club
Terra Rubra means "red earth" in Latin, and refers to the distinctive red soil in northwest Carroll County, Maryland. It's also the name of the estate in nearby
Keysville where Francis Scott Key, author of "The Star-Spangled Banner," was born in 1779.
The Terra Rubra Lions Club was chartered in 1966. Since then we've been
proud to serve the rural communities of Keysville, Keymar, Bruceville, Rocky Ridge, Detour, Ladiesburg, and Middleburg.
The motto of Lions Clubs International is "We Serve."
At Terra Rubra, service to our neighbors goes hand-in-hand with having a great time!
