IntroducingThe Terra Rubra Lions
Terra Rubra means "red earth" in
Latin, and refers to the distinctive red soil in northwest Carroll
County, Maryland. It's also the name of the estate in nearby Keysville
where Francis Scott Key, author of The Star-Spangled Banner, was born
in 1779.
The Terra Rubra Lions are a group of your neighbors
who have come together to serve our community. Our club was chartered in 1966, and
since then we've been offering a wide range of services to Carroll County, including
college scholarships, vision assistance, loans of convalescent equipment,
youth athletic programs, and much more.
We are proud to serve the rural Carroll and Frederick County
communities of Keysville, Keymar, Bruceville, Rocky Ridge, Detour, Ladiesburg, and
Middleburg.
The motto of Lions Clubs International is We Serve.
At Terra Rubra, service to our neighbors goes hand-in-hand with having a great time!

2012
Our first event of 2012 was our annual Sportsman's Drawing
& Dinner, and it was a big success. We hosted nearly 200 guests at the
dinner, and gave away over $7500 worth of firearms of all types. Find details
and the names of the lucky winners HERE.
The Terra Rubra Lions are donating the use of our Activities Building on March
17 to our neighbor Emma Baker and her family. Emma played
in our softball program for many years, and she is currently undergoing treatments
for cancer. Her family will be holding a Mystery Bingo to raise money
to help pay for her treatments and transportation. Doors will
open at 5:00 for dinner, and bingo begins at 7:00. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15
at the door. Call 410-775-1998 for tickets. Please come out and show your support
for Emma and her family.
Coming Soon ...

Building. Check HERE for all the details.
Looking forward to the opening of the 2012 NASCAR season? So are we! Come join us on

big-screen TVs (though there's a rumor that we might have 4). Get all of the details
HERE. Start your engines!
