Meeting Notes

Monday, November 1

We met at 6:30 p.m. at Middleburg Park. Lion President Kevin Trump presided over the meeting.

Attendance: We had 23 members and 3 guests present for the evening. Our guests were Thurmont Lions Gene & Shirley Long and Bob Meunier.

Reports: Lion Larry Stambaugh reported that we were still waiting on the progress of the well testing and exhaust hood approval.

Lion Larry also reported on the October Crab Feed and told us the Frederick County Therapeutic Riding Club is renting our building for a bingo on November 20th. Lion Shelbe Stambaugh reported on our Basket Bingo. The event turned out very good as usual.

Lion Linda Bowers said that we had 51 sign-ups for the Blood Drive on October 25th at Keysville Lutheran Church and collected 47 pints of blood. She thanked all who made food donations for that activity.

Lion Larry Gray said that the Peace Posters were in the process of being judged, and the winners would be sent to him to get in to the district contest.

Lion Beth Sandifer reminded us of the upcoming Home Merchandise Auction and needed to have all items to be sold in by November 7th.

Business: President Kevin announced that the Sportsman’s Gun Raffle is scheduled for January 29th.

Lion Susan Cox asked about doing the Holiday Gift Bags for our area elderly and shut-ins again this year. We approved after a motion and second.

Lion Wayne Weeks said that we would have our Santa visitation at our building on Saturday, December 18th. Lion Ralph Gann will be our Santa.

The 50-50 drawing with a value of $11.50 was won by Lion Ralph Gann, who donated back to our administrative fund. Lion President Kevin adjourned the meeting at 7:58 p.m.

Monday, November 15

We met at 6:30 p.m. at Middleburg Park. Lion President Kevin Trump presided over the meeting.

Attendance: We had 26 members and 7 guests present for the evening. Our guests were Jim Stonesifer, Alice Mehring, Alice Gann, June Stutzman and Lion Mike’s three boys.

Reports: Lion Larry Stambaugh reported that we were still waiting on the progress of the well testing and exhaust hood approval.

Lion Larry also told us that the Frederick County Therapeutic Riding Bingo fundraiser was still on and took a count for kitchen help for that evening.

Lion Larry also reported on the progress of the candy and nut sales and gave a final report on the gasoline raffle.

Lion Beth Sandifer reported on the Home Merchandise Auction. The fund raising event went very well.

Lion Karen said that some of the items have already been purchased for the Holiday Gift Bags for our area elderly and shut-ins.

Lion Larry Gray said that our Peace Poster Winner is the same young lady that won last year. Her entry was forwarded on to the district competition.

Business: The 50-50 drawing with a value of $13.00 was won by Lion Steve Mehring and donated back to our administrative fund. Lion President Kevin adjourned the meeting at 7:58 p.m. with a Board of Directors Meeting to follow.
