Meeting Notes

Tuesday, October 5

We met at 6:30 p.m. at Middleburg Park. Lion President Beth Sandifer presided over the meeting.

Attendance: We had 22 members and 3 guests present for the evening. Our guests were Lions Bill Francis and Bob Nelson from Deer Park Lions Club and Richard Mehring, who was a guest of Lion Larry Stambaugh.

Health & Welfare: There were no reports.

Reports: Lion Charlie Mehring reported on the progress of getting our vent hood installed.

Lion Larry Stambaugh reported on other progress at the building. He also said that our Gasoline Raffle was a very good fund raiser for us. He reminded us of the Crab Feed coming up on October 24th. He also asked for four members to help cater the private party on October 10th at our Park.

Lion Larry Gray said that the Peace Posters would be done by October 30th and the New Windsor Middle School Art Teacher would be judging them for us.

Lion President Beth gave us an update on the Quilt Raffle ticket sales and on the Home Merchandise Auction.

Lion Shelbe Stambaugh reported on the Basket Bingo ticket sales.

Business: Lion Linda Bowers reminded us of the Blood Drive coming up on October 26th and that donated food goods would be much appreciated.

The 50-50 drawing with a value of $11.50 was won by Lion Wayne Weeks and he donated it toward the Building Fund. Lion President Beth adjourned the meeting at 7:49 p.m.

Monday, October 19

We met at 6:30 p.m. at Middleburg Park. Lion President Beth Sandifer presided over the meeting.

Attendance: This was Lion District Governor Bob Disinger 's official visit to Terra Rubra. We had 18 members and 11 guests present for the evening. Our guests were Lion District Governor Bob Disinger and his wife, Lion Eileen; Lion Cabinet Secretary Paul Cannada; Lion Region Chairman Kent Eitemiller; Lion Zone Chairman Wayne Sherfey and his wife, Lion Linda Sherfey; Lion Rick Sherfey; Ralph and Alice Gann; Sandy Grable; and Irene Weeks.

District Governor's Message: Lion Cabinet Secretary, Paul Cannada introduced Lion District Governor, Robert Disinger. Lion DG Bob delivered his message to us adding that he felt our district is a family and we are growing.

Health & Welfare: We had reports on Lion Lewana, Lion Linda’s Mom, and that Lions Sharon and Wayne were new great-grand parents.

Reports: Lion Larry Stambaugh reported on the progress of getting our vent hood installed. He also said that catering the private party went well. He told us the Crab Feed coming up on October 24th was almost sold.

The canned nuts that Lion Larry ordered as another fundraiser would be coming in soon.

Lion President Beth gave us an update on the Quilt Raffle ticket sales and on the Home Merchandise Auction.

Lion Shelbe Stambaugh reported on the Basket Bingo telling us that it had sold out and was a very good fundraiser.

Business: Lion Linda Bowers reminded us of the Blood Drive coming up on October 26th from 2-8 p.m.

Lion Zone Chairman Wayne Sherfey gave us the dates for our upcoming Zone Meetings. They are:

  • November 11th at New Windsor,
  • February 3rd at Harney, and
  • April 19th at Terra Rubra.

The 50-50 drawing with a value of $16.50 was won by Ralph Gann.

Lion President Beth adjourned the meeting at 8:01 p.m. with a Board Meeting to follow.
